During this pandemic, some fire departments are seeing an increase in chemical burn calls. I have to admit that bleach is one of my favorite go-to cleaners! I love the smell and feel like what I have washed is actually clean. The downside is the fact that it is not good for our lungs or skin!
My second go-to are those store-bought cleaning wipes. I usually have a stash in my car and use them for things like doorknobs and steering wheels. As of right now, you can not find a single disinfecting wipe on the shelves!
So, I got on the mission to find a healthier alternative. Made with ingredients that you might already have or are easy to get. These wipes were simple to make and smell fabulous!
I might continue to use this method even after the pandemic.
The ingredients are basic:
Mix the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Cut the paper towels in half or whatever length fits the can you are using. I used a serrated knife. I took the paper towels outside and shook off the loose bits.
Take the cardboard center out of the paper towels.
Fit the paper towels into the container. This took me some smooshing and shoving in.
Once I got them in, I found the center and pulled it up a bit.
Slowly pour the mixture into the paper towels. Be sure to cover the entire surface.
Give it a few minutes to absorb all the way through.
Cover and use it as needed!
